Affordable Local SEO in the North East

InkBlimp is a global agency. We have worked with clients all over the world and built our reputation by establishing content marketing plans, completing designs, and undertaking SEO for clients everywhere from Quebec to Queensland and from Doncaster to Dubai. But we’re also based in the North East of England and are more than happy to support local businesses seeking SEO and content services.

In fact, InkBlimp was cofounded by a local novelist and a designer who previously launched the Shelgo Tea website. Together, they wrote the content and marketing materials, designed the logo and product packaging, handled the SEO, and launched/managed the business. Once the wheels were turning, they hired additional staff to ensure that everything operated smoothly.

The time and effort applied to launching Shelgo Tea is the same time and effort InkBlimp dedicates to every client’s business, whether you’re seeking a complete business built from the ground up, some basic designs, or a comprehensive SEO strategy.

If you want a local company that always puts the client first, has a proven track record, and is neither too big to care or too small to meet demands, then contact an InkBlimp specialist today.

SEO in Newcastle and Northumberland: How is it Different?

Search engine optimisation is similar wherever you go and whatever business you run. Unlike a physical marketing campaign, you’re appealing to Google and to its global audience. The procedures that can help an international site succeed can also help your local business to flourish.

However, there are a few exceptions, and these need to be considered for the local SEO strategy to be successful.

If your business also appeals to a global audience and you can sell to someone in London, Dubai, or New York just as easily as you can to someone in Newcastle, then local SEO isn’t really necessary and a standard SEO plan can be implemented.

First, you’re using very specific keywords very specific users are searching for. If your company is based in Morpeth, Newcastle, Hexham, or anywhere else in the North East, and you’re selling a product that only locals are interested in, then any searches and clicks from customers based outside the UK are completely useless to you. In fact, the same applies to any searches outside your local area.

Second, you need to take advantage of key Google features and tools that highlight local companies. All of this ensures that your business ranks highly for all local, relevant searches.

Can You Guarantee Rankings?

We don’t make promises that we’re not absolutely sure we can keep. The problem with SEO is that it’s an ever-changing, highly complicated, and incredibly competitive industry, even on a local level.

It’s also expensive and needs to be approached holistically. Our process begins by looking at your budget, your industry, and your expectations, and then building a content plan. Our focus is always to prioritize on-site content, as this provides a secure, stable, and long-lasting ranking that doesn’t run the risk of your business being backlisted.

Many SEO “experts” will simply spam your site’s link onto as many forums, comment sections, and blogs they can find. This will result in a short-term rankings increase. This may only last for a few weeks, but in that time, they have already taken your money, received your praise, and moved onto the next client, after which your site gets blacklisted and your entire e-Commerce business is ruined.

With on-site content, we’re giving Google exactly what they want, building organic search rankings, and future-proofing your website against upcoming Google algorithm changes. This takes more time, but as we’re a small agency, we’re able to provide these services for a reduced cost—and we’re also completely transparent throughout.

We won’t make promises we can’t keep, we won’t do anything that can result in your site being blacklisted, and we’ll always put our best writers and SEO experts on the job. You might not always hear what you want to hear before the job begins, but you’ll always get the best possible SEO and results, and that’s ultimately the only thing that matters.

How Much Does It Cost?

We can work with many different budgets, but we can’t do anything for less than £1,000. This is our starting rate; it ensures that we can do enough to make an impact on your business.

We will aim to provide well-researched SEO content (covering everything from blogs to foundation pages and product descriptions), all of which is written by professional copywriters and then edited in-house; detailed SEO audits, to highlight the developmental changes that need to be made and the strategy going forward; and an off-site strategy.

The bigger the budget, the more detailed our approach will be and the more we can offer you. At £10,000, for instance, we’re able to provide between 50 and 150 high-quality articles/pages, acquire many major links, and make most of the necessary changes. This should be enough to get a brand-new site off the ground and ensure it’s prepared for years to come.

We can also spread the work and the cost, working on a minimum budget of £500 per month.

How Long Does Local SEO Take to Work?

Google works very slowly. It can take several weeks just to update its listings, and if you’re at the back of the queue, there is little you can do to speed it up. As for the ranking changes, these can occur anywhere within one to three months, to eight to twelve months. It depends on a number of factors, from the nature of the keywords to the sector and the current rankings.

If we’re launching a site from scratch and have complete control of the process, we will typically see some big rankings land within just a few weeks. Initially, the site will rank for some of the more obscure keywords, allowing it to cement its position in Google and to start generating traffic and exposure.

Within the next couple months, it will begin to rank for bigger keywords and will start showing up on the first page for many local SEO search terms. It takes a little longer to go from this position to ranking in the top 1 or 2, and there is no guarantee this will happen, but typically this change will occur within the first year of the site’s launch.

It’s a long, slow process, but the sooner you start, the sooner you can reap the rewards.
