Paul has written for some of the biggest magazines, newspapers, and websites in the world. He has ghostwritten bestselling books and has provided content for five of the United Kingdom’s biggest gambling websites, as well as some of the world’s biggest websites covering fitness, health, travel, sports, and law.
The vast majority of his work, however, was completed on behalf of middlemen, companies hired by big corporations to generate content. In many cases, he was the head—and sometimes only—writer for SEO agencies and writing companies, producing vast quantities of content and copy for companies he had no direct line to.
The tipping point came when he began working for a major media company listed as the second largest in their sector. After writing a plethora of how-to guides and foundation website pages, Paul discovered that his contact was based in Dubai, even though the company receiving the content was in the UK.
After some more digging, he learned that the Dubai contact was receiving orders from another company based in China who in turn were receiving their orders from a company based in Australia.
Four companies across four countries—all earning their cut, all passing on information. He was the only writer working for this particular company, but there was a convoluted mess of agencies and middlemen between them, which meant that the company paid too much and Paul received too little.
In creating InkBlimp, Paul wanted to establish what seemed to be a first in this industry—a content agency actually run by content creators. His goal was to work directly with the companies needing the content and to supply them with it quickly and expertly. By reducing the number of middlemen, not only can InkBlimp provide quality content for less, but it can also afford to hire better writers, artists, and editors, creating a process that is both more affordable and better than anything else on the market.
