Book Cover Design Services

Over half a million books are published across the United States and the United Kingdom every year, and that number gets close to one million once you factor self-published books into the equation. Only a handful of these will achieve bestseller status, and the vast majority will struggle to sell more than a few hundred copies, but they all have a chance, and with a great cover, they can all do well.

That’s where InkBlimp comes in. We are an experienced book cover design agency who have worked with numerous publishing houses and self-published authors. We specialize in eBook cover design and can create an image that helps your book jump off those virtual shelves and get noticed by the millions of readers who browse sites like Amazon and Barnes & Noble every day.

For unmatched eBook cover design at an affordable price, use the Order Form at the bottom of this page. To learn more about our process, keep reading. You can also see specific samples of our work by looking at the following pages:

Book Cover Deign Agency

Our eBook design process differs from the vast majority of design agencies in many ways. As discussed in our About Us page, InkBlimp was created by experienced freelance writers and designers who tired of working for low-paying agencies that would outsource all their work to the cheapest bidder. We wanted to establish an agency that cut out the middlemen, ensuring that the funds were spent on acquiring the best content creators and not on giving outsourcers an undeserved share.

This means that we can:

The eBook Cover Design Process

InkBlimp provide services for publishers and for individuals. We have budgets and options to cater for both, but the process is a little different.

The Process for Authors

The majority of our clients are authors seeking a single book cover or covers for a series of novels. We are able to provide a very affordable eBook cover that meets your needs and ensures your book gets noticed.

The process begins when you click “Begin Order” and you complete the order from. This form will request some basic information from you, including the title, author name, genre, and any sample images or texts that you want to submit. You will be required to submit payment upon completion of this process, after which the details will be submitted to our design team for inspection.

They will look at the data and formulate a general idea, before handing the project to the most suitable designer. The designer will then complete it within the allotted deadline and post it to the site, at which point you will be sent an email where you can download the cover.

The Process for Publishers

If you’re seeking regular covers on behalf of an independent publishing company, we can provide a discounted rate and operate on as little or as much info as you feel is necessary. Some of our clients prefer to simply give our eBook design team a genre, book title, and author name and leave it at that; others like to go whole-hog and provide our team with a detailed analysis of the book and the author’s vision.

In any case, the best way to get started is to purchase a single cover from us using the process below. This will give you a feel for the work that we provide. If you like what you see, you can contact us directly and take things from there. If there is something specific you would like to request or ask, just contact us and speak with one of our representatives.

We are unable to provide any free covers, even on the promise of additional work, so please bear this in mind before contacting us.

Full Print
Covers

We focus on eBook covers right now, as there are many factors to take into consideration with a full print book, with everything from the page count to the publisher’s specifications altering the size of the cover and impacting the designer’s process.

However, we are currently working on a process that will allow us to take orders for paperback and hardback covers, and we can also provide this service under exceptional circumstances for our existing clients.

UK-Based Design

InkBlimp is a UK-based design and content agency, and all our book cover designers are in the UK. We have a small but dedicated team, which ensures we can keep the standard of work high. We do not outsource to cheap, low-skilled workers like many other eBook design agencies do, and if you request it, we can assign a specific member of our team to work on your project. Just find a sample that you like, mention it in your quote, and we’ll make sure the same eBook cover designer works on your piece.

This may prolong the deadline slightly, as we’ll need to make sure that the designer you request is available, but this will be determined during the order process.

You don’t have to be in the UK to work with our eBook cover designers. Our biggest clients are actually publishing houses based in Arizona, United States, and Athens, Greece, and we’re happy to provide our services to customers all over the world. We can even create covers in foreign languages, if required.

Frequently Asked Questions

eBook Cover Design

If you have an idea, mention it; if you have a particular piece of artwork, include it. However, keep in mind that one of the biggest mistakes that authors make is to assume they know better than designers who have created many covers and have an eye for details.

The most successful projects are those where the designer is given completely free rein. However, you know your book better than anyone, and if it’s important for your cover to look a certain way, our eBook cover designers will try to make that happen.

We have very small and dedicated team of eBook cover designers, and there are limits to what we can do. However, if we’re available and believe we can meet your demands within the timeframe, we’ll do it. You will see a list of all available deadlines when you place your order. These are changed all the time and are set on a first-come-first-served basis, so book your slot while you can.

Our designers can only create the cover and send it to you. They cannot upload it to Amazon for you.

We offer small changes on all of our covers (such as colours, names, and placement tweaks) provided these are within reason. If you enter a typo during the submission process and this results in an incorrect cover title, we’ll be happy to change it. However, if you keep changing the title after the cover has been completed, there will be a limit to how many changes we can implement.

We also have multi-cover options for clients who want to receive several different cover ideas.

As discussed above, we can provide a back cover during exceptional circumstances, but the blurb will need to be provided by you. If you need a little help with this, you can also take a peek at our Creative Copywriting services and have our team create one for you. This is a very intricate process that will involve a published author (we have bestsellers on our team), a copywriter, and an editor, all of whom will work together to create several different synopsis examples for you.
