You’re a writer, your friend is a developer, and you’ve both spent the last 10 years helping small-business owners build their brands, what do you do?

For Yiota and Paul, the answer was to do their own thing, and thus Shelgo Tea was born. Named after their cats, Hugo and Sheldon (if it worked for Brangelina…), Shelgo Tea is a boutique herbal tea brand that sources teas from Greece and sells them to customers in the UK.

Yiota and Paul built the business from the ground up and with a low 4-figure budget. Paul wrote the content, managed all of the SEO, and handled the marketing; Yiota designed the site, product packaging, and logo, while also managing the SEO. At a later date, they were able to hire part-time customer support staff and packers, as well as freelancer developers, but everything you see and read from the brand comes from one of these two.

In many ways, Shelgo Tea was the spark behind InkBlimp, with the founders now offering a similar brand-building service to small business everywhere.
